Better not leave any children unattended! Dire consequences...

Do you think the children really want to go to this Day Care Center? Looks kinda spooky.

Oh fun! Rock, paper, scissors. But if you get "rock" or "paper" do you still get your hair cut?

No, Duluth is not the last place on earth. There's a sign on the Keweenaw Peninsula that says the same thing.

We laughed about the saying on this coffee cup for five minutes.

You got this straight? Especially the part about 2 whistles or 2 bells?

Just wondered...can you have children without adults?

Leave the city behind! You're up north now!

Maybe some wishful thinking...
OK, I think we’ve just about wrapped up the Duluth trip. Today (Tuesday) I sat in a swamp for the outdoor adventure. Perhaps I’ll find another swamp to sit in tomorrow and we’ll have a swampy blog.
**Here’s another sign for you all: REMEMBER THE SCAVENGER HUNT OVER ON FLANDRUMHILL’S BLOG!! The contest ends next Monday, July 20th. C’mon, everybody can play. All you need is a digital camera and some imagination. You can email ‘em to her if you don’t have a blog. **

Love the photo’s of all the sayings…my of my favorite things on any trip! O and the photo’s from Dutluth are very neat. The little girl remined me of my brother and I when we would visit munising in the summer. My parent thought we were nuts swimming in the freezing water, and mt.man still thinks I am losing it if I dive in when we venture up to the south coast there! Glad you had a great trip….

Hi Nature Lovin’ Super Mama! Oh so you know personally about these frigid Lake Superior waters… There’s something about kids perhaps being oblivious to cold. Our kids (and many many other kids around here) used to go swimming around Memorial Day. MEMORIAL DAY! Were they nuts? (One year there was ice on the bay just before Memorial Day.) Oh to be a kid again. Poor mt. man. He really likes the warmth, doesn’t he?

I am beginning to think he hates the cold because he is half New Mexican, and I believe he only “tolerates” it b/c the other half is Northern Michigan! lol
Me well I love it here, and just to make you laugh (but I am totally serious) I have tried to convince mt.man to retire in copper harbor, well he said no way in some form of creative language…. lol
So jealous you live on the north side of the bridge
Have a great weekend!

Kathy these were so funny. I think you should put them into an email forward
I especially liked the one about being up North now and having to leave the city behind. I wonder if one exists that says ‘You’re in the city now, leave the country behind.”
Thank you for the posting the reminder for the scavenger hunt.

An email forward! Gasp!! Don’t people shoot you if you send email forwards? smiling….I liked that Up North one too. Probably there’s some unwritten rule that we’re suppose to leave the country behind when we visit the city. Except some of us can’t. We bring all of ourselves wherever we go!

These were great. I especially liked threatening parents with a puppy . . . I have a collection of signs, too – must get around to doing that post one day. After I do the post for the Flandrum Hill Scavenger Hunt of course.

You and me both need to do that scavenger hunt. I’m thinking…maybe…tomorrow. If not, Sunday. Yikes! Down to the wire! Looking forward to seeing your sign collection posting one of these days. By the way, that puppy/espresso one got us started looking for them.

This one isn’t for Torch Lake Views, as I saw it years ago in Detroit, but the memory lingers. In gilt letters on the window it said, “Clockmaker. Watches and Grandfathers also repaired.”

Hi Janet. So glad to see you! My heart did a little dance of happiness. Glad you enjoyed the Duluth peek. Barry kept saying it reminded him a little bit of Ann Arbor. I dunno about that. But certain parts of it had that kind of flavor.

Forgot to respond, Gerry. You’ve had me chuckling about that Grandfather repair several times!

That first one is amazing. And I want to go to that hair salon so bad!
